Deploy

Deploy

Can be easily clamped to any pole, walls, in critical regions of the city like dams, canals, streets etc.

Visualize

Visualize

Visualize real-time data on water levels, GPS location etc. captured by the sensors.

Warning

Warn

The data is analyzed continuously and people are warned of the risks for flooding.

The Aurassure solution for flood monitoring is an automated flood warning and prediction system for cities and communities, providing real-time warnings to reduce flood related disasters by utilizing IoT and Big Data technologies.

Architecture

Architecture of Flood Monitoring Architecture of Flood Monitoring
Figure: Aurassure Flood Monitoring Architectural Diagram
Sensors for sensing and monitoring water, inundation levels, rainfall, precipitations and other environmental parameters are deployed at critical zones of the city like traffic posts, dams, pumphouses, canals etc. These sensors continuously transmit data acquired from the surrounding for storage to local or a central server through available mode of communication such as GSM, GPRS, Wi-Fi etc. The application server analyses and procsses ad data received into meaningful information's in real-time and makes them accessible to different departmets, organizations, communities and peoples to notify them in case of any alerts and assist in disaster mitigation and disaster preparedness of the city.

Pumping Station Operation

Architecture of Pumping Station
The sensor nodes installed at sewerages, drainages and pump stations will monitor the operational status of the pump (on/off) and also the water levels at penstock & sump. The sensors are equipped with local triggers and alarms to warn the pump operators whenever the water levels go beyond the acceptable levels.

Sump/Penstock

Water Level Monitor

Sump/Penstock

Every city drainage system has sumps & penstocks to store the excess runoff of surface water during heavy rainfalls. The water is filtered & conveyed to canals, rivers whenever it reaches acceptable limits.

The sensors are installed to monitor the operational status of the pump weather on/off.

Canal Level Sensors

Canal Level Sensors
The nodes can be installed to monitor water levels of rivers and canals during and after extreme rainfall events. The sensors will monitor the water level for both open and gated canals. At gated canals the nodes can be installed on both sides of gates to monitor flood water, whenever the water overflows the danger mark the excess waters will be released to the rivers, the sensors will also monitor the gates opening and closing status.

Street Inundation Sensors

Street Inundation
Inundation sensor nodes can be deployed at the most vulnerable spots of the city such as traffic junctions, schools, hospitals, govt. offices, shops, & residential areas to measure the inundation of streets/roads. These sensors will be accompanied by environment sensors for year-round environmental monitoring providing information on temperature, humidity and air quality across the city.
